To date, Hydro-Québec has invested close to $1.2 billion in energy efficiency initiatives.


In 2003, Hydro-Québec introduced the Energy Efficiency Plan (EEP) to curb growth in electricity consumption, particularly in the residential sector, which was feeling the effects of a boom in the real estate market and increased electricity use for various purposes, including home heating.

The plan covers several initiatives aimed at helping customers achieve energy savings, such as the RECYC-FRIGO ENVIRONNEMENT program.
To date, Hydro-Québec has invested close to $1.2 billion in energy efficiency initiatives.
